What is our Origin?

Ikonge SDA Mixed secondary school was established in 1976 as a “harambee” school through the initiative of the community under the sponsorship of the Seventh Day Adventist(SDA). The school is located in Kemera Zone, Kemera Division, Kemera ward, Manga sub county, Nyamira county in Kitutu Masaba constituency. The school was registered in the year 1986.

The school started with a population of twenty two(22) students in form one. There has been seen an upward trend in terms of population. As at now, the population stands at three hudred and sixty eight(368)students. For the smooth running of the school, the teaching staff comprises of fourteen(14) TSC teachers and four(4)Board of Management(BOM) teachers. Besides the teaching staff, there are eleven(11) supportive staff comprising of three cooks, four watchmen, a librarian, a laboratory assistance, a secretary and an accounts clerk.
